Lakes, Backwaters, Villages That Adds Beauty To Kollam
Ashtamudi lake is a getaway to the backwater cruises of Kollam and is a second largest lake in Kerala. Talking about Thangasseri beach, it is situated adjacent to the Kollam Fort and is the best place to spend an evening. Palaruvi waterfalls start from the height of 300 feet and are located at a distance of 81km from Kollam. At a distance of 44kms from Kollam Rock cut temple is located. This is a very famous temple and on either side of it there are two large structures and inside each, there are inner shrines. Munroe Islands is a beautiful island formed by the backwaters of Ashtamudi lake and Kallada river. And Alumkadavu is a small village at a distance of 28kms from Kollam.
