There are many tourist destinations in Trivandrum. They are:

Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple

Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple
This is one of the famous temples in Kerala. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Marujapam festival is conducted once in every six years. Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple is currently run by the royal family of Travancore. In 2011 the supreme court of India sends a team to open vaults of this temple.


Kovalam

Kovalam is one of the best beaches in the world. It has three adjacent crescent beaches. Lighthouse beach, hawah beach and Samudra beach these three combined to form Kovalam beach. 

Kowdiyar Palace

The Maharaja Sree Chithira Thirunal build Kowdiyar Palace. He builds this palace for the wedding of his only sister. The architectural work is famous. It is one of the most important palaces in kerala.


Ponmudi

The golden peak or Ponmudi is the hill station in Trivandrum. It is a part of Western Ghats mountain range and many tourists attracted to this hill station. Peppara wildlife sanctuary, eco points, and trekking are some attractions here. It is the best place for trekking.

The Neyyar dam and wildlife sanctuary is 32 km from Trivandrum.  It is the all-time picnic spot for everyone. This place is rich in scenery. Deer Park, lion safari park, crocodile rehabilitation centers etc. are the main attractions here.

Kuthiramalika or Palace Museum

Kuthiramalika meaning is 'palace of Horses'.  The Kuthiramalika or palace museum is built by Swathi Thirunnal Balarama Varma. It is a traditional architecture. Teak wood, rosewood, marble, and granite are used for construction. There are a large collection of sculptures and idols.


Agasthyakoodam

Agasthyakoodam is the second highest peak in Kerala. It is the best place for bird watchers and nature lovers. It is found that there are above 2000 species present here. 

Planetarium

Priyadarshini Planetarium is one of the best planetariums in our country.  You can learn about the stars, planets etc. by watching the exotic view in this planetarium. The planetarium opened to the public in the year 1994.


Kanakakunnu Palace


The Travancore royal family used this palace to entertain their guests. Sree Moolam Thirunal builds this palace. Today the tourism department is protecting kanakakunnu palace. Many cultural programs are conducted here.
